The boys returned to the win column Wednesday night with a 4–0 victory over Cambridge. Lexington struck quickly, opening the scoring just 2½ minutes into the game. Senior captain Dylan took a neutral-zone feed from linemate Ryan Li in full stride, sped past a Cambridge defenseman, and cut hard to the net. Sweeping across the crease, he deked the goalie and tucked a backhander into the open net. The goal was Lane’s fourth in his last five games.

Lexington added to its lead with 2:22 remaining in the first period when sophomore Nick Piantedosi capitalized on a Cambridge turnover in the slot. Spinning quickly, he fired a shot past the Cambridge goalie for his first varsity goal, giving the Minutemen a 2–0 advantage. Piantedosi would later add an assist and earn player of the game honors.

Lexington headed into the locker room with a 2-0 lead after the 1st period.

The second period was largely uneventful, with the Minutemen controlling possession while the defense—anchored by senior captain Caleb Fehm, Coulson Roy, Hunter Xu, and goaltender Timmy Rinaldi—kept Cambridge off the board. Lexington extended its 2–0 lead with less than 20 seconds remaining in the period, when Dylan Lane won a puck battle along the wall and sent a beautiful pass across the crease to sophomore Kyle Li, who one-timed it into the back of the net.

In the third period, Cambridge pushed hard to climb back into the game, but Lexington’s defense and Rinaldi stood tall. First-year varsity defenseman Andrew Pechnisky, along with Will Pjura and Sam Xi, continued their strong late-season play, helping shut the door. It was a complete, confident performance by the blue line to close it out.

As the game wound down, Lexington added one more goal thanks to the relentless forecheck from the line of Aiden Neale, Nick Piantedosi, and Joe Dolci.

They kept Cambridge trapped in their own zone, and the pressure eventually paid off. Dolci made a great pass from the corner to Piantedosi circling behind the net, who quickly fed it out front to Neale. Neale finished the play with a backhand over the goalie’s pad, giving Lexington a 4–0 lead.

Credit to goaltender Timmy Rinaldi, who came up big when it mattered most, especially in the third period when Cambridge applied heavy pressure. He also earned his third shutout of the season, capping off another strong performance between the pipes.

The boys head back to the road on Saturday when they travel to Brockton's Asiaf Arena to take on Oliver Ames at 5:00 PM.
